The MOD Studio’s Growth Plans include Doubling in Size in 18 Months

Austin graphic and web design firm has already doubled in size in the past two years and expects to duplicate that feat in the next 18 months

Austin, Texas – April 26, 2011 – The MOD Studio, a graphic and web design firm based in Austin, TX, just announced plans to double its size in both revenue and headcount over the next 18 months. While the firm’s current revenue is estimated to be $300,000, its projected 2012 revenue is expected to be excess of $600,000.

The MOD Studio’s expected surge in revenue is attributable to several factors, key among them being the acquisition of several marquee clients.  Maria Orozova, founder of the graphic and web design firm, says of the growth: “We doubled our size over the last two years thanks to a steady stream of new clients. Lately, however, we won major projects from several large clients including Fujitsu, Logitech, Bulldog Solutions and the State of Texas.”

The MOD Studio was started in 2007 by Orozova as a boutique graphic and web design firm. Since its founding, the firm has managed to rise to number 16 in the Austin Business Journal’s 2010 annual rankings of graphic and web design firms. Orozova credits her firm’s growth to her design team’s ability to listen to the client and produce results that consistently exceed expectations. “If we’re not focused on a client’s needs, then we shouldn’t be in business,” she says.

2011 marks the first year Orozova felt like she could realistically map out a strategic roadmap with well-defined revenue goals, staffing levels and office space requirements. “Not long after I started, the global recession began and companies scaled back, postponed and sometimes even canceled design projects,” she remembers. “Despite a sluggish economy, a singular focus on design excellence and value helped us enjoy healthy growth. We’re fortunate to now be in a better position to predict our revenue based on an existing set of customers, their web development plans, and current growth rates we’re observing in Austin.”

The MOD Studio recently moved to its location at 24th and Lamar to accommodate growth. In January, Orozova hired a digital and social media specialist to help round out her team. “Our staffing is projected to rise to eight over the coming months as we take on new projects from some of our major Enterprise customers,” she says.
